8-Bit Guitar Heroes

Anamanaguchi is my favourite internet band in the sense that their music would appeal only to the video gaming community that love classic video game music. You wouldn't hear their unique style of Digital Electric Rock on the radio or any real mainstream source of music mainly due to the unorthodox way they make their music.

Anamanaguchi are chiptune artists which means they create music using chip tune samples from video game and computer consoles from the 1980s. Simple game sounds from that era blended with more traditional sounds and instruments creates this high energy fast paced punk music. Getting the samples from a Hacked NES system and Gameboy they then combine the composed chiptracks from the consoles with A Guitar, Bass and Drums to create digital masterpieces like their popular track "Airbrushed" which featured on the Rock Band Game.

Whilst making Chip music isn't a very popular genre of music their success from scoring the soundtrack of the highly acclaimed Scott Pilgrim vs. the World video game has garnered them a lot of attention as the Game Soundtrack shot up to #4 on the New Artist Billboard chart.

And releasing new "7 singles from the beginning of March it seems Anamanaguchi are heading on to big, brighter and better things. Proving that Chiptune music isn't just for Geeks... Cool People can like it too.

But alas it's also another new band with a unique style of music for Hipsters to lord over people for not thinking progressively enough. Sigh I don't like the idea of sharing Anamanaguchi with Hipsters but that's a very ironic for me to say in the first place.
