The Onion news network is a popular and well respected News source famous for delivering some of the more interesting, thought provoking and stimulating news stories around... And they're all fake.
Humbling the internet with its far fetched pieces and articles the Onion has tricked many unsuspecting people into believing ridiculous new stories since 1988. Originally a joke newspaper project the Onion is now the biggest satirical news network online and has been in business since 2007. The internet community has welcomed the Onion into its homes with open arms and it will only get bigger and better as the years roll on.

Mortal Throwback
Mortal Kombat Legacy
YouTube Playlist: HERE
Official Website: HERE
In the 90s there were only two Fighting Games that dominated the Arcades, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. Both have seen countless film and television adaptations and pretty much all of them have been horrendous to say the least. Some of the Better adaptations have come from online submissions from Fans like Street Fighter the Later Years, Street Fighter Legacy and finally for Mortal Kombat was given a great one through Machinima with Mortal Kombat Legacy.
Originally this started as a video pitch to Warner Bros movie studios to reboot the Mortal Kombat franchise in a more gritty realistic tone. Warner Bros wasn't so hot on the idea but did advocate the job to Machinima. Thanks to the immense popularity the series has received online there is talks of a Second Season already in the works which will introduce series favourite Lui Chang and even talks of a DVD and Blu-Ray release.

AVENGERS ASEMBLE!
Avengers Assemble
Website: HERE
YouTube Channel: HERE
With the upcoming release of The Marvel Comics Avengers movie it seems an appropriate time to mention the small web series kicking around YouTube based on the Avengers Superhero League called 'Avengers Assemble'.
Operating with a modest budget and and a slightly varied cast of Avengers members, I honestly don't think Wolverine was part of the Core Avengers Team this little series portrayed the normal everyday lives of the Avengers as they adjust to modern society. It's a cute little project even if it does leave a lot to be desired.

If Steve McGranahan was a character on King of the Hill he'd be the Star of the damn show, This Power-lifting Giant of a Man has a Heart of pure Gold. Mixed with Humour and good fun Steve makes videos that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Whether it's him creating a new unique form of Kung Fu as he shows us his Mastery of the Beer Can Nun Chucks or his gardening engineering brilliance as he trims his Garden hedges with a Lawnmower on a Stick, It's hard not think anything negative about this man. He's an absolute Legend to put it bluntly and since he's made Partner with YouTube releases a video each and every week where he shows off his Redneck ingenuity mixed with his Adonis like Feats of Strength.

Retro Questing
The Adventures of Ledo and Ix
Official Site: HERE
PATV Page: HERE
Ledo and Ix is a cute little web-series about two Heroes on a Quest, They don't what they're quest for, Fame, Glory, Power, Money, Princesses? No one seems to know, all we know is that they have only each other to rely on.
Created by Emily Carmichael and the rest of the Team from Kid Can Drive this 8 Part series is delightful. Ledo is a strong and closed off Person more focused on the Quest at hand. She is Brave and an Expert with Swords. Ix is a carefree spirit that would rather have Fun then do this tedious quest, He is vibrant yet cautious and is armed with a Bo-Staff. The typical odd couple scenario but they're close friends never the less and they seem to genuinely care for each other.

Official Site: HERE
Related previous Entry: We Need Girlfriends
Steven Tsapelas returns back with his Written and direction little mini series My Future Girlfriend. It's been a long time removed since We Need Girlfriends and we're back in the shoes of another Slacker's shoes named Clark as he chases for love in all the wrong places as he is torn between his dream girl Lisa and his Future Girlfriend Kelly, Oh how the shenanigans ensues in this 5 part gem.
Also returning with Steven is Patrick Cohen and Brigitte Hagerman who played Tom and Lucy respectively in We Need Girlfriends. So there is a lot of familiar faces and familiar style of humour people grew to love from We Need Girlfriends.
